Welcome to Minwaadizi Farm

Growing Food. Practicing Culture. Cultivating Community.

Minwaadizi Farm is an Indigenous-woman-owned small-scale organic farm and cultural learning hub on the unceded territory of the K'omoks Nation.

ABOUT US

Minwaadizi Farm is an Indigenous-led food sovereignty initiative and cultural learning hub rooted in relationality, reciprocity, and care for the land. Through our Farming is Sacred model, we weave cultural practices into everything we grow and share - working toward justice, equity, and community wellness.

OUR MISSION

Growing Food. Practicing Culture. Cultivating Community.

Our work challenges the dominant unsustainable food system by revitalizing Indigenous land management practices with a focus on growing traditional foods, decolonizing land stewardship from an extractive to a reciprocal relationship, and valuing community over individual gain.

Our teachings of relationality are the foundation of everything we do. Every seed that we plant carries a prayer for our future, and every person who sets foot on the land is greeted with ceremony and connection.

When we revitalize our cultural values and foods in this way, we are healing our food systems and creating a vision of sustainable communities for our collective future.

Bring your school group, or join an educational program, for hands-on learning experiences rooted in Indigenous agriculture.

Consulting & Policy

Need help planning or implementing your Indigenous food sovereignty project or land-based education initiatives? Need Indigenous-led guidance or advice for your food sovereignty or agricultural policy? We would love to work with you!

Speaking Engagements

Looking for engaging speakers for your upcoming event? We offer participatory story-based talks focused on connection, belonging, Indigenous agriculture and food sovereignty, and relational ways of living.

Learning Together on the Land

Through storytelling and hands-on experiences, participants learn about Indigenous agriculture and how we apply our Farming is Sacred philosophy.

Our approach focuses on relationality rather than output. We prioritize being together on the land in a slow and respectful way, creating community and belonging through caring for the land, ourselves, and each other.

Activities may include seed stories, planting, harvesting, soil care, and seasonal land-based teachings.

Client Testimonial

“It was an absolute gift for our Partners in Education (PIE) Indigenous learners to spend time with Minwaadizi Farm under Natasha’s guidance. Through her Anishinaabe teachings, students experienced the profound power of seeds—not only as sources of food, but as powerful living metaphors. Natasha invited us to assist in planting and tending to the Land in a relational, connection-based way that centred respect, reciprocity, and cultural understanding.

Many of our learners come from a wide array of Nations and are not always residing on their home territories. Natasha’s extension of the seed metaphor—that each seed carries everything it needs for life within it—beautifully affirmed that each student carries their culture, identity, and inherent strength with them into every place and situation. This teaching fostered a deep sense of belonging and unity among our group.

Engaging in drumming and singing focused on the Land further grounded the experience in joy, reverence, and community. The day was meaningful, empowering, and deeply rooted in culture and connection. We are so grateful for Natasha’s generosity in sharing her knowledge and spirit, and we cannot wait to visit Minwaadizi Farm again.”
